CrowdView Legal

These are CrowdView's current public Terms of Service, Upload License, Privacy Policy, and Content Rules. They are prepared for launch readiness and remain subject to review by licensed counsel.

CrowdView Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of CrowdView, including browsing event videos, signing in, submitting uploads, and using event, venue, viewpoint, and timeline features. By using CrowdView, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from this page.

Using CrowdView

CrowdView helps people find event videos by venue, event, time, and viewpoint. Approved public videos may be browsed without an account. Uploading video, viewing owner-only upload status, and other accountability-sensitive actions require a signed-in account.

Accounts And Sign-In

You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity submitted from your account. CrowdView may support email/password, Google, Apple, or other provider sign-in. Provider email addresses, including Apple private relay addresses, are used for account operation and are not the public owner key for uploads.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for videos, titles, descriptions, viewpoint selections, event requests, venue requests, and other information you submit. You must have the right to share the content, and your use must comply with applicable law, school rules, venue rules, event rules, and any platform terms that apply to playback services such as YouTube.

Uploads And Review

Uploads are not guaranteed to appear publicly. CrowdView does not rely on YouTube or any other playback provider as the first review layer. Uploads remain hidden while pending and must pass CrowdView review before they are public-ready; provider moderation is an additional backstop after upload or playback processing.

CrowdView may approve, reject, restrict, remove, hide, disable, or change visibility for uploads at any time, including for safety, privacy, copyright, youth-event, moderation, quality, duplicate, or product-integrity reasons.

Children And Youth Events

CrowdView is not directed to children under 13. Users under 13 may not create accounts or upload content. Youth, school, family, and minor-related events require extra care. Uploaders must be adults, parents, guardians, schools, venues, event organizers, or other authorized users who have the right to share the video.

Removal And Cooperation

CrowdView may remove or restrict content in response to copyright, privacy, safety, school, venue, event, or rights-holder concerns. You agree to cooperate with CrowdView when a submitted upload is questioned, disputed, or subject to a removal request.

Availability And Changes

CrowdView may change, pause, or discontinue features. CrowdView may update these Terms and policies over time. New uploads may require acceptance of the then-current legal versions before submission.

Upload License

CrowdView Upload License

This Upload License explains the permissions you give CrowdView when you submit a video, title, description, viewpoint selection, or related upload information.

You Keep Ownership

You keep ownership of videos you upload. Uploading does not transfer ownership to CrowdView.

Permission You Give CrowdView

By uploading, you give CrowdView a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process, review, moderate, transcode, publish, display, embed, distribute, sync, and make the upload available through CrowdView and CrowdView-controlled playback channels, including YouTube when used for public playback.

YouTube And Playback Services

Approved uploads may be transferred to CrowdView-controlled YouTube channels or similar playback services. You understand that those services may apply their own terms, technical processing, moderation, advertising, monetization, and retention rules. You must not upload content that you cannot lawfully provide to those services.

Processing Permission

You allow CrowdView to extract and use technical metadata, recorded timestamps, duration, file hashes, duplicate signals, device metadata, and private location metadata when available. CrowdView uses that information to match uploads to events, viewpoints, and timelines. Raw location metadata is not displayed publicly.

Playback And Derived Assets

You allow CrowdView to create thumbnails, previews, embeds, timeline markers, sync data, confidence signals, moderation records, and other derived assets needed to operate the product.

Moderation And Removal

CrowdView may approve, reject, restrict, remove, hide, disable, or change visibility for uploads. Approval is not guaranteed. Removing an upload from CrowdView may not immediately remove all backup, audit, processing, or third-party playback copies where retention is allowed or required.

Monetization

You allow CrowdView and its playback providers to monetize playback where legally and platform-policy allowed. This permission does not guarantee that an upload will be monetized, publicly discoverable, or available for any particular period.

Your Confirmation

By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to share the video, that the upload does not violate law or applicable rules, and that you will not upload content you do not have permission to share.

CrowdView Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CrowdView collects, uses, stores, and protects information connected to browsing, accounts, uploads, event matching, moderation, and video playback.

Information CrowdView May Collect

CrowdView may collect account identifiers, email addresses or provider relay addresses, upload information, event/viewpoint selections, video files, video metadata, timestamps, duration, file hashes, processing status, moderation status, duplicate signals, legal acceptance records, and technical browser or device information needed to operate and protect the service.

Video Metadata And Location Data

Uploaded videos can contain embedded metadata such as recorded date/time, device details, orientation, duration, and location. CrowdView uses metadata privately to place videos on an event timeline, detect duplicates, and verify event/location confidence. Raw GPS/geolocation metadata is not shown publicly by default.

How Information Is Used

CrowdView uses submitted information to operate uploads, review videos, sync playback, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, improve event matching, support owner-only upload status, and respond to rights, privacy, safety, and removal requests.

Service Providers

CrowdView uses hosting, database, authentication, storage, email, worker, and playback providers needed to operate the product. Approved uploads may be sent to CrowdView-controlled video services such as YouTube for playback.

Uploader Identity

Uploader account identity is used for accountability, owner-only upload status, legal acceptance, and support. Uploader names, emails, provider relay addresses, and account identifiers are not displayed publicly by default.

Youth And School Events

CrowdView is not directed to children under 13. Youth, school, and family-event content receives stricter moderation when appropriate. CrowdView will avoid knowingly accepting uploads directly from under-13 users without appropriate parent or guardian consent and review.

Retention And Removal

CrowdView retains data while needed to operate the product, preserve legal acceptance and moderation evidence, respond to disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Users or affected parties may request review, restriction, or removal through the Copyright and Takedown Policy.

Content Rules

CrowdView Content Rules

These Content Rules apply to videos, titles, descriptions, event requests, venue map requests, and any other information submitted to CrowdView.

Allowed Uploads

Uploads must be relevant to the selected event, venue, and viewpoint. Short clips, partial views, and imperfect phone videos are acceptable when they help document the event from that location.

Do Not Upload

Illegal content.
Sexually explicit content or non-consensual intimate imagery.
Harassing, hateful, abusive, exploitative, or threatening content.
Private or sensitive recordings that you do not have permission to share.
Copyrighted material you do not have permission to share.
Content that violates venue, school, event, league, or performer rules.
Misleading uploads from a different event, place, viewpoint, or time.
Content intended to identify, target, shame, or endanger a person.

School And Youth Events

Use extra care with school, youth, and family events. Uploaders must only submit videos they have the right to share. CrowdView may apply stricter review, private/unlisted visibility, or removal for youth-related content.

Moderation

CrowdView may reject, remove, restrict, hide, disable, or change visibility for uploads that appear unsafe, irrelevant, misleading, low quality, duplicative, privacy-sensitive, rights-infringing, or otherwise inappropriate for the product. No upload should be treated as public-ready merely because it was received, processed, or accepted by a playback provider.

Copyright And Takedown Policy

Copyright, privacy, safety, school, youth-event, and removal requests are handled through a separate public policy and request form.
