Version 1.0
CrowdView Legal
This page contains the active CrowdView Terms of Service, Upload License, Privacy Policy, and Content Rules. The Copyright and Takedown Policy is maintained separately.
Terms of Service
CrowdView Terms of Service
These Terms govern access to and use of CrowdView, including browsing event videos, submitting uploads, and using CrowdView event, venue, viewpoint, and timeline features.
Using CrowdView
CrowdView helps people find event videos by venue, event, time, and viewpoint. Public approved videos can be browsed without an account. Video uploads require account sign-in and acceptance of the active CrowdView upload terms.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for the videos, titles, descriptions, and other information you submit. You must have the right to share what you upload and must follow applicable law, venue rules, school rules, and event rules.
Uploads And Review
Uploads are reviewed before they appear publicly. CrowdView reserves the right to approve, reject, restrict, remove, or modify visibility for uploads at any time, including for safety, privacy, copyright, youth-event, or quality reasons.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. CrowdView reserves the right to restrict or suspend accounts that abuse uploads, submit unsafe content, or repeatedly violate these Terms.
Availability
CrowdView reserves the right to change, pause, or discontinue features. Active uploads and published videos remain subject to these Terms, the Upload License, the Privacy Policy, and the Content Rules.
Upload License
CrowdView Upload License
This Upload License explains the permissions you give CrowdView when you submit a video, title, description, viewpoint, or related upload information.
You Keep Ownership
You keep ownership of videos you upload. Uploading does not transfer ownership to CrowdView.
Permission You Give CrowdView
By uploading, you give CrowdView permission to store, process, review, display, embed, sync, publish, and distribute the upload through CrowdView, including through CrowdView-owned video channels such as YouTube.
Processing Permission
You allow CrowdView to extract technical metadata, recorded timestamps, duration, file hashes, and private location metadata when available. CrowdView uses that information to match the upload to an event, viewpoint, and timeline. Raw location metadata is not displayed publicly.
Playback And Derived Assets
You allow CrowdView to create thumbnails, previews, embeds, timeline markers, synced playback data, and other derived assets needed to operate the product.
Moderation And Removal
CrowdView reserves the right to approve, reject, restrict, remove, or disable uploads. Approval is not guaranteed. CrowdView removes uploads for privacy, copyright, safety, quality, youth-event, or policy reasons when appropriate.
Monetization
You allow CrowdView to monetize playback where legally and platform-policy allowed. This permission does not mean every upload will be monetized or publicly discoverable.
Your Confirmation
By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to share the video, that the upload does not violate law or event rules, and that you will not upload content you do not have permission to share.
Privacy Policy
CrowdView Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how CrowdView collects, uses, stores, and protects information connected to browsing, uploads, event matching, moderation, and video playback.
Information CrowdView May Collect
CrowdView collects account information, upload information, event/viewpoint selections, video files, video metadata, timestamps, duration, file hashes, processing status, moderation status, and technical browser or device information when needed to operate the service.
Video Metadata
Uploaded videos can contain embedded metadata such as recorded date/time, device details, orientation, duration, and location. CrowdView uses this metadata to place videos on an event timeline and verify event/location confidence.
Location Data
If a video contains location metadata, CrowdView uses it privately to help confirm whether the video matches the selected venue and event. Raw location metadata is not shown publicly.
How Information Is Used
CrowdView uses submitted information to operate uploads, review videos, sync playback, prevent abuse, improve event matching, and support admin review.
YouTube And Service Providers
Approved uploads are sent to CrowdView-owned video services such as YouTube for playback when required by the upload workflow. CrowdView also uses hosting, database, storage, and worker services needed to operate the product.
Youth And School Events
CrowdView is not directed to children under 13. School and youth-event content receives stricter moderation when appropriate. Uploader identity is not displayed publicly in the current product.
Content Rules
CrowdView Content Rules
These Content Rules apply to videos, titles, descriptions, event requests, venue map requests, and any other information submitted to CrowdView.
Allowed Uploads
Uploads must be relevant to the selected event, venue, and viewpoint. Short clips, partial views, and imperfect phone videos are acceptable when they help document the event from that location.
Do Not Upload
- Illegal content.
- Sexually explicit content.
- Harassing, hateful, abusive, or threatening content.
- Private or sensitive recordings that you do not have permission to share.
- Copyrighted material you do not have permission to share.
- Content that violates venue, school, or event rules.
- Misleading uploads from a different event, place, or time.
School And Youth Events
Use extra care with school, youth, and family events. Uploaders must only submit videos they have the right to share, and CrowdView applies stricter review to these uploads when appropriate.
Moderation
CrowdView reserves the right to reject, remove, restrict, or disable uploads that appear unsafe, irrelevant, misleading, low quality, duplicative, or otherwise inappropriate for the product.
Copyright And Takedown Policy
Copyright and takedown procedures are maintained separately so rights holders can access them directly.
